Anahata Chakra – Heart Chakra

The Anahata Chakra, or Heart Chakra, is the fourth of the seven main chakras, located at the center of the chest. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word anahata, meaning “unstruck” or “unhurt,” pointing to a place within us that remains pure and untouched by pain or experience. Associated with the air element and the color green, it governs love, compassion, forgiveness, and our capacity to connect deeply with ourselves and others. A balanced Anahata brings warmth, empathy, and an open heart; when blocked, feelings of grief, loneliness, or emotional guardedness tend to rise to the surface.

Developed from 4 – 7 years old

Represented by the green color and the air element, and it is located in the center of your chest

Your heart is the center of your body, and this chakra is a bridge between the three lower chakras and three upper chakras. Your heart chakra carries the ability to hold, to heal, and to help the planet. And it is in your heart that you experience love and connection.

When is under active: antisocial, fear of intimacy, judgmental
When is balanced: empathetic, ability to grieve & find peace, love yourself and others

How to work with this Chakra?

Every Chakra has its particularity, and one of the ways to work with the material that we are offering here is with a centering meditation followed by journaling prompts. Here area few examples to journal about:

Write out a list of 20 things that make you feel loved.
How do I soothe myself when I feel overwhelmed?
How can I show myself more self-love?
Do I find it easier to give or receive?
In what ways do I reject myself?
