The Sahasrara Chakra, or Crown Chakra, is the seventh and final of the main chakras, located at the very top of the head. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word sahasrara, meaning “thousand-petaled,” reflecting its symbol of a blooming lotus in full expansion. Associated with pure consciousness and the color violet or white, it governs our connection to the divine, universal wisdom, and the experience of oneness beyond the individual self. A balanced Sahasrara brings a deep sense of peace, spiritual connection, and the understanding that we are part of something greater; when blocked, feelings of spiritual disconnection, purposelessness, or existential emptiness tend to arise.
